Player's Dream (TM)      The Ergotar has been on paper and the continued vision of Mr. Willis Whiteside, who leads a small Industrial Design, new product development company including fabricating one of a kind prototypes for hundreds of customers.  Bringing this experience to the work bench combined with a passion for guitars, and working with some talented Musicians and Luthiers, the Ergotar has been a strung along venture.        The Ergotar is about making an instrument based on the Professional Player's desire for great sound combined with a shape or form that is unique and as comfortable and easy to play, as possible.  In Design terms it's called Human Factors or Ergonomics, meaning the design of a guitar for people who play the guitar for fun and most times money and a living.  So our aim is to help, first sound great and aid in relieving the discomfort associated with playing for hours on end.  The solution, the Ergotar and Ergotar Bass.       The Ergotar is on its 5th generation or GEN5.  The instrument was first studied by Mr. Willis Whiteside, back in the 1980's, as the opportunity to study under the Industrial Design Masters at The Ohio State University.  The result of a Design Thesis ended up as an investigation into Human Factors and Ergonomics of playing guitar including studying Luthiery.  All while taking advantage of the evolving use of mass production technologies in guitar manufacturing and a more human factors friendly, ergonomically designed electric guitar.  Our Mission is achieve the best guitars possible, then like the late great Henry Ford, design and produce it for those who want and need it. The Ergotar team consists of a close group of very talented Musicians, Industrial Designers, Engineers and Luthiers that have a dedication to pursue the American Dream and make a guitars.
